MPs Urge Government To Increase Recycling Efforts In The UK
According to recent reports by MPs, further governmental action is required in order to reduce waste and improve recycling rates in the UK to meet EU targets by 2020.
Movement towards hitting a target of recycling at least 50 percent of household waste by 2020 has reduced. Ministers have stepped back from efforts to encourage people to recycle their rubbish just as progression in recycling rates in England has plateaued, MPs have said.
MPs have also stated that householders are still confused as to what can and cannot be recycled and only a quarter of them recycle waste correctly.
