Our highlights of 2015
We hope 2015 was a great year for you and the festive holiday delivers some much-needed rest and recuperation – plus large slices of turkey and a Christmas present or two. Here, ProSkips takes a look back over the past 12 months to pick out some of the highlights of our year.
At the start of the year, we reported that London’s commercial building boom has played a part in helping us become the biggest customer of many skip hire companies based in the capital and has seen us help deliver a number of high-profile construction projects.
One of those was Coca-Cola’s new headquarters in the West End of London, which is now the workplace of around 300 Coca-Cola employees from across Europe.
Other notable construction projects we’ve been a part of over 2015 include the refurbishment of human rights charity Amnesty International’s offices in Clerkenwell and work at Sky TV’s HQ in Isleworth.
ProSkips also supplied the contractors working on a project at the former Guinness brewery in the Park Royal area of London, which is now the UK headquarters of global drinks business Diageo.
Major building work in the public sector also saw us supply large projects taking place at University College London, King’s College London, the Neonatal Unit at St Thomas’s Hospital and the Harris Federation – a not-for-profit charity with almost 25 years’ experience of education in and around London.
ProSkips played a part in the building of two new Harris Academies in Norwood and Bromley plus a project at the Bank of New York’s London headquarters among the skyscrapers that dominate Canada Square in Canary Wharf.
But our work did not just contribute to helping London’s business community grow. We also got close to royalty, or rather skips we supplied for the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping were a short distance from Prince Charles.
After being called on to play a part in US President Barak Obama’s state visit to London in 2011, ProSkips was among the elite list of companies involved in the arrangements when the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall welcomed the President of China to the UK at a ceremony in Horse Guards Parade.
October also saw ProSkips make an appearance at the Rugby World Cup in Twickenham when we helped set up and dismantle the media village.
Other sporting venues to call on ProSkips’ experience in 2015 included the racecourses at Newmarket and Aintree – home of the Grand National – Henley Royal Regatta plus Wentworth Golf Club, which hosted the BMW PGA Championship in May.
ProSkips does not just supply the business and corporate community. A lot of our work comes from domestic customers and the building trade, but few of those jobs are as big as the refurbishment of Sir Richard Branson’s former house in Holland Park.
The Grade II listed building, which Sir Richard put on the market in 2006, is five storeys high and has 12 bedrooms plus a swimming pool.
Whether you need a skip to make a domestic clear-out an easier task or are involved in a multimillion pound construction project for a global brand, ProSkips has the knowledge, experience and capacity to exceed your expectations.
We are confident that 2016 will provide as many – if not more – highlights as the past 12 months, not least because of the government’s recent announcement that it will deliver 400,000 new homes over the next four years and news that the UK is already producing 2 billion of the 2.2 billion bricks the country needs.
Before we wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, we’d just like to remind you that ProSkips will reopen for business on 4 January.
In the meantime, have a very merry Christmas and a prosperous 2016.
