When did recycling start in the UK?

Sadiq Khan: 'London needs to reduce, reuse and recycle more'

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, recently published the draft environment strategy, which focuses on improving the environment and green spaces, air pollution, recycling and responsible waste management.  The strategy sets out various targets, including minimising the amount of waste which goes to landfill and improving waste collections.
