Skip hire in Twickenham

Skip Hire in Twickenham (TW1–TW2) by Proskips

Looking for skip hire in Twickenham that’s quick, fairly priced and hassle-free? Proskips supplies reliable domestic and commercial skips across TW1 and TW2—ideal for house clearances, kitchen and bathroom refits, landscaping, shop fit-outs and ongoing building works. With transparent pricing, practical advice and flexible collections, we keep your project tidy and on schedule.

Skip sizes for every project

From small tidy-ups to major refurbishments, Proskips offers popular sizes to suit most jobs—typically 4, 6, 8, 12 and 14-yard skips. Unsure what capacity you need? We’ll match the size to your waste type and access so you don’t overpay or run out of space mid-project.

  • 4–6yd (mini/midi): Garden waste, small DIY and declutters.
  • 8yd (builders’): Bricks, rubble and mixed construction waste.
  • 12–14yd (large): Bulky, lighter waste from loft/garage clearances.

Permits, access & space-saving options

If your skip needs to sit on the road, we’ll guide you through the local council permit process and advise on placement for smooth delivery. Working on a narrow street, red route or timed bay? Ask about wait-and-load—our driver waits while you load, then removes the waste straight away, helping you avoid permits and neighbour disruption. Thanks to rapid coverage from our nearby West London skip hire depot (subject to availability), we can react quickly to short deadlines in and around Twickenham.

Responsible disposal you can trust

Proskips is a licensed waste carrier operating to strict environmental standards. We prioritise reuse and recycling wherever possible and provide clear guidance on what can and can’t go in a skip. Typically accepted: soil, rubble, wood, metal, plastics, packaging and most non-electrical household items. Items requiring special handling—such as fridges/freezers, tyres, TVs/monitors, solvents, paints, batteries and asbestos—should be flagged in advance so we can recommend the safest, most cost-effective route.

You do not need a permit to place a skip on private property as long as you have the landowners permission. For a small charge Prowaste can organise a skip permit for you but please be aware that we can only work as fast as the council who will be issuing it. The cost of the skip permit will vary depending on the size of the skip and your location.

Waste Disposal Facts in Twickenham

How much does a skip cost

The answer is based on three factors. (a) The amount of rubbish you have to dispose of and therefore the size of the skip you will require (b) The type of rubbish you have and that needs to be disposed of (c) Your geographic location the skip will be required.

Do I need a Skip Licence from the council

This depends on where you are placing the skip. If it is on a public road, or highway, the answer is yes. If it is on private property the answer is no. If you need more information please phone the office and speak to any of our team, we’re always here to help.

How much do Skip Permits Cost

The cost of a Skip Licence or Permit will vary depending on your geographic location within the UK, as well as the council and borough granting the permit. Each council controls its own licensing fees and Proskips unfortunately have no way of influencing or reducing these fees but regularly challenge councils across the UK on our customers behalf..

Who applies for and issues Skip Licenses and Permits

Local councils provide Skip Licenses and Permits. In most instances, Proskips will be allowed to apply for the Skip Permit on behalf of our customers. However in some areas, councils require the individual or business hiring the skip to apply for their permit or licence directly. We would recommend you visit your local councils’ website to understand what their process and specific requirements are.

How long do Skip Permits last

Depending on the local council who will be providing your Skip Permit or Licence, permits are generally granted for 14 or 28 days. Most councils are however more than happy to allow for this initial period to be extended (for an additional fee), so we would recommend that you contact them in advance if you need more time. Please note that the onus is on yourself, as if you keep a skip for longer than the timeframe allowed by your permit, you may be liable for a fine.

What happens if my skip is on the road without a permit

You will be breaking the law. We will not place a skip on a road without a valid permit under any circumstances in any borough throughout the UK. Do not forget that you will not need a permit if you are putting your skip entirely on private property – on your driveway.
